WHY

I started out in life with a few self-limiting beliefs, but above all with an abundance of curiosity and determination. At the age of 16 I decided to stop being a victim of my past and take responsibility for my circumstances. I was looking for a different context, an encouraging environment in which one could experiment and make mistakes. After training as an industrial clerk and studying social work, my decision to move to Southeast Asia ‘saved’ my life!

I believe the possibility of becoming ourselves is what makes us successful. 13 years of intercultural work as an entrepreneur and change agent in Southeast Asia and 10 years of building innovation hubs in Germany broken down into two words: Audacity & Self-Leadership!

I created the terms and conditions I needed to successfully shape my life. Now I was on the driver’s seat of my life. A feature that united all successful people I had met during that time was their unconditional determination and ability to take their lives into their own hands, regardless of their background, resources, education or what other people thought of it. Two things in particular distinguished them: self-confidence and clarity. Their life was defined by purpose, intention and joy. The more they developed their potential, the stronger they lived themselves, the more satisfied and successful they were. And this always and without exception.

By the time I moved from Asia to Europe, I was clear what I had to do. I needed to create circumstances in which people could best discover and develop their potential. I created “GarageBilk”, a coworking space, which I later turned into one of the largest European hubs.

IN ADDITION I have a passion for interior design, motorcycling, dance, the saxophone and the outdoors. I have two grown-up children and a beautiful home base is Germany and work about six month a year from South-Europe and Southeast-Asia.
